Epic Mickey is Disney’s action adventure video game originally developed for the Wii console that enables the player to transport themselves into the conscience of Mickey Mouse as he endeavours to escape the darkest depths of Cartoon Wasteland armed only with his magic paintbrush.
With a long history of award winning children’s programme making under our belt and having proven the relationship between Disney & BOOM to be a success previously with NEXT X, Disney chose us to collaborate with them on a series of shorts that commemorated a competition they ran Europe wide in conjunction with the launch of their new product.
Working from concept to completion on the strand, BOOM shot 9 short films with young contributors on location at Disney’s design headquarters in Milan. The trip gave the children a chance of a lifetime experience, to learn how to draw the most famous mouse in the world, with first hand tuition from professional animators; a unique experience BOOM captured on camera.
Shooting on tapeless Panasonic P2 HD, within 10 days of filming BOOM supplied 9 films, in multiple file based delivery formats & in both English and mother tongue languages for broadcast on TV & online across the globe.
