During 2010 ‘Boom’ worked closely with Fifa to make ten unique internet films which centred on their ‘Interactive World Cup’ and the characters immersed in the competition. Gamers from around the world were taken on ‘once in a lifetime’ trips ranging from meeting Lionel Messi and Ronaldo at ‘The World Player Gala’ in Zurich, to playing on the Estadio Azteca’s pitch in Mexico City, to a behind the scenes tour of AC Milan’s training ground with David Beckham.
The ‘Fifa Interactive World Cup’ attracts over half a million virtual gamers with the sole objective of being crowned the best Fifa gamer in the world. Our series of unique escapades didn’t just honour the skills of ten talented games but they showed each individual personality in charge of the D-Pad. Working closely with Fifa’s main sponsors; Coca Cola, Sony, Emirates and Adidas, our films brought home the true essence of the competition whilst helping to generate expectation levels and excitement for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
To help advertise the virtual tournament and Fifa’s sponsors we also created a five minute ‘big screen’ promotional film which was shown infront of millions of fans during their ‘World Cup Fan Fares’ in Berlin, London, Paris, Mexico City and Lisbon.
